Savoury French Toast – Low FODMAP

  • 1 egg whisked
  • 1 tbsp Reduced-fat milk
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil leaves chopped
  • Reduced fat cheddar cheese x2 slices
  • 35 g baby spinach
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 bread x2 slices


  • Whisk egg, milk and basil together in a small bowl.
  • Soak bread slices in the egg mixture turning to coat both sides.
  • Heat the oil in a large frypan over medium heat. Add in the soaked bread slices and cook.
  • Turn the bread once it is golden brown. When both sides are golden, place the cheese on top and wait for it tomelt.
  • Serve with low FODMAP green leaves on the side
