Vegetarian version:
- Replace the mince with 50% of the weight in Quorn mince (due to it's higher protein content).
1. Wheat/Gluten

- Modification: Use a gluten-free, wheat-free instant gravy powder or thicken the sauce with cornflour or arrowroot.
2. Barley, Rye, Oats
- Possible source in recipe: Instant beef gravy powder (some may contain barley, rye, or oats as thickeners)
- Modification: Ensure gravy powder is free from barley, rye, and oats—choose a certified gluten-free product.
3. Sulphites
- Possible source in recipe: Instant beef gravy powder, frozen peas and corn (rare, but possible in some brands as a preservative)
- Modification: Use sulphite-free gravy powder and check frozen vegetables for sulphite preservatives.
4. Milk (Dairy), Soy, Egg, Fish, Crustacean, Mollusc, Sesame, Lupin, Peanut, Tree Nuts
- Possible source in recipe: Instant beef gravy powder (some brands may contain these as additives, flavorings, or due to cross-contamination)
- Modification: Choose a gravy powder clearly labeled free from all required allergens.
