Vegetable Lentil Bolognaise (Children)

2 Brown Onion diced
20 g Garlic minced
5 Zucchini grated
5 Carrot grated
1 tbsp Herbs mixed, dried
1.6 kg Tomato, canned uncooked, undrained
0.75 cup Tomato paste no added salt
1.2 kg Brown Lentils, canned drained
2 cup Cheddar cheese
600 g Wholemeal Pasta
0.75 cup tomato Sauce reduced salt
4 tbsp Olive oil
Brown onion in oil, add garlic, zucchini and carrot.
Add lentils and all remaining ingredients. Simmer gently for 30 – 40 minutes.
While Bolognaise is simmering, cook the pasta.
Place cooked Bolognaise into a serving dish and sprinkle with the grated cheese.
Serve: serve with the pasta and a side salad. Preparation time: 40 – 45 minutes Cooking time: approximately 1 hour
1. Milk (Dairy)

2. Wheat/Gluten
- Source in recipe: Wholemeal pasta (contains wheat and gluten)
- Modification: Use gluten-free pasta (made from rice, corn, quinoa, or legumes).
3. Sulphites
- Possible source in recipe: Tomato paste, tomato sauce, canned tomatoes, and canned lentils (some brands use sulphites as preservatives)
- Modification: Use brands labeled sulphite-free for tomato paste, tomato sauce, canned tomatoes, and lentils.
